Friends of the Well is an Arizona non-profit organization dedicated to the protection and preservation of Montezuma Well National Monument located in central Arizona just south of Sedona.
Our Mission is to protect our National Monument from rampant encroachment of development in the vicinity of the Well while also preserving the threatened aquifer sourcing this magnificent and unique habitat belonging to us all.
Friends of the Well also has an educational and community outreach mission. We regularly sponsor informative talks about the region - its geology, archaeology, and pioneer history. We believe by informing the public of this unique place and its history we can inspire others to help protect this magnificent place.
We have also been involved in road clean-up in our community and projects at the National Monument.
Join us now in our efforts to defend one of America’s most threatened National
Monuments and one of the world’s most unique bio-spheres. As a member of Friends of the Well, you will preserve the sanctity of a sacred Native American site, while protecting one of your historical , anthropological, biological, and cultural treasures.
