The Hohokam and Sinaqua Indians are credited with leaving
petroglyphs in nearby Walker, Beaver, and Red Tank canyons. Some have
been identified by Hopi visitors to the Well as clan symbols. Today, the Hopi Antelope and Snake Clans get water from the Well in late
summer for their rain ceremonies.
